According to OnePlus, the update will be released today onwards and will reach a limited number of users at first. The update will be rolled out according to the region and some regions might get the update sooner than the others. But it is confirmed that over the next few days, the update will be rolled out to all the other OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users. A post on OnePlus’s official forum stated that OxygenOS 9.0.4 update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T includes the Android security patch of January along with improved stability for OTA upgrades, bug fixes, system improvements and more. Other than that, the latest update also brings network stability and deep integration with Google Duo, that will bring video calling features to Call Logs, Contacts, Dial Pad and Messaging.
The OxygenOS 9.0.4 is being rolled as an OTA (over-the-air) update and OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users will receive the notification once the update has reached their region. The size of the update is 1,741MB. If the users haven’t received the update notification, they would need to update their smartphone manually. They would need to go to Settings, then head to System and then to Software updates. Once clicked, the update will start downloading. Once downloaded, the users can update their devices to the latest OxygenOS. Yesterday, OnePlus was said that it was going to roll out the beta version of the new OxygenOS for OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T too. So, we might see the updates in its newer phones as well. Prior to that, the company had revealed that its previous models, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will be getting the latest Android Pie update soon. The newest update was supposed to arrive mid-2018 but the company failed to do so. For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
