The Android 9.0 Pie update is expected to get gesture-based navigation system to Moto G6 Plus which have earlier been seen on Google’s Pixel smartphones. Other than this, enhancements like adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, improvements in security and a refined Doze mode will also make their way to the smartphone. The Settings app of the handset will also get redesigned and post the update, will have a colourful icon. In a nutshell, we will get to see all the core features of Android 9.0 Pie update. The changelog was first spotted by users on Reddit. As we mentioned earlier, the update also gets the December 2018 Android security patch to Moto G6 Plus mobile. The smartphone maker has mentioned on its support page that users should install the latest Android update on their Moto G6 Plus when the battery of their handset is at least 50% charged and they are recommended to begin the download only when their device is connected to Wi-Fi. Android 9.0 Pie update is expected to roll out to Moto G6 Plus smartphones in the next few days. The update will roll out in a phased manner and users will see a notification on their smartphone when they receive it. You can also check for the update manually in the Settings of your Moto G6 Plus smartphone. Head to Settings, then go to System and click on System updates. To recall, Moto G6 Plus was launched in India in September this year and at the time of the launch, it was powered by Android 8.0 Oreo. Globally, the smartphone was launched in April along with Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play devices. It is worth noticing that the news of Android Pie coming to Moto G6 Plus comes just days after Motorola‘s One Power smartphone received the update. Reports also suggest that the company has pushed out the update to its Moto X4 smartphones in select regions.
