This was first reported by Jeff Lin, an analyst from research firm HIS Markit. According to him, the laptop will be a redesigned variant of the current MacBook Pro model and it will use a new LCD display panel from LG Display. The screen of the new MacBook Pro is reported to have a resolution of 3072 x 1920 pixels – highest in a MacBook so far. The current high-end MacBook Pro with 15.4-inch display comes with a 2880 x 1880 pixels resolution. Other than that, the 16-inch model of the MacBook Pro will also be powered by a new CPU. However, we should mention that using a new CPU to the 16-inch model of MacBook Pro seems unlikely as the company had updated its MacBook Pro line up last month itself. Furthermore, the new laptops by Apple are powered by a new and powerful processor. However, if the reports are true and if Apple really launches a 16-inch model of MacBook Pro to its line up, then it will be interesting to see what specifications it will hold and what its price will be. However, considering that the current high-end model of MacBook Pro has a lower screen resolution and an older CPU than the rumoured model, it will undoubtedly be price higher than that.
Other than the 16-inch model of MacBook Pro, Lin also expects that the company will be upgrading the CPUs of the 13-inch MacBook Pro as well as the MacBook Air. There is also a possibility that we might see an upgraded version of the 12-inch MacBook. Last week, we saw that Apple filed several new MacBook models with the Eurasian Commission database. According to the database, the company had filed seven new MacBook models – A2141, A2147, A2158, A2159, A2179, A2182, and A2251. With the report of the new and upgraded models of MacBooks, there is a possibility that the 16-inch MacBook Pro might be a part of these 7 MacBook along with the 13-inch MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air as well. The company hasn’t revealed anything about the newer models of MacBook that it is reportedly working on, but we will see them at their launch in September 2019.
