Facebook-owned Instagram has joined the election supporting apps by bringing a new civic engagement sticker for its platform. The General Elections 2019 have started today and will go on till May 19. They will decide the fate of the members of the 17th Lok Sabha and whose party will form the government. The 2019 General Elections will be conducted in seven phases over the next one month. And during this time, the new civic engagement sticker can be used by the users on their Instagram stories to tell their contacts, followers about their experiences and excitements....

Instagram is even taking steps to combat situations where hackers change the username and contact data that is linked to the accounts. The app will now offer a safeguard that will prevent anyone from changing the username from being changed for a particular “period of time” after account changes take place. This is applicable in hacks or even in voluntary cases. Apart from this, in order to recover their accounts, users will be asked to fill in their personal details like their original email IDs or phone number....

The company said on the microblogging website, “Now, you can preview IGTV videos in your feed. When there’s a new video from someone you follow, you can tap from your feed to watch the full video in IGTV.” And now, this has finally happened. If you accessed Instagram today, you would have seen a Story shared by the company that confirms today onwards, IGTV videos will be available for preview in users’ News Feed....
